It’s a full immersion program

With the au pair program in Spain you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in our culture and learn Spanish.

You will live in and be welcomed as a family member. In exchange you will help with light household duties and child care. Consequently, Au pair candidates should be responsible, trustworthy young adults.

The Au pair will receive full room and board as well as a weekly stipend.

lt is a full immersion program. From the day you arrive you will be exposed to Spanish language and custom at the ground level, and you will not have to worry about living expenses.

Both male and female Au pairs are welcome in Spain.

Au Pair in Spain Highlights

Age: 18 – 30


Minors, 17 years old, can be place with parental consent if they turn 18 during stay in Spain.

Male and female


Yes! Both are accepted in the Spanish Au Pair programme.

30 hours / week


During 5 or 6 days per week. One and half days off or 2 and during the weekend. One whole weekend free per month.

Pocket money 80€


Families pay minimum 80€ / week. In big cities pay monthly transport ticket.

Lenght of stay


From 1 up to 12 months. You choose!

Summer Au Pair


Yes, from mid June until mid September. From 1 up to 3-4 months.

Holidays


1 week paid holiday per 6 months worked. National holidays are also au pair holidays.

Spanish classes


You pay for your Spanish classes. We cooperate with some Spanish schools that make discounts to our au pairs.

Health insurance


European citizens: You are covered by the European medical card. Non European Citizens: If your stay is longer than 3 months host family contribute with the 50% of the health insurance.

Total to pay

You will pay 0€ if you match with one of our spanish host families. The only payment you will have to pay will be your round trip to Spain and the spanish school.

Servihogar is an Au Pair agency created in 2005. It is a founding member of AEPA, the Spanish association of the au pair program and a member of IAPA, International Au Pair Association.

Au pair matching process

1. Prepare your Au Pair Application

Fill out the application, write a letter and send us pictures of yourself with your family and children you have looked after (if possible). Make a collage.

2. Send us your application form

Once we receive your au pair application form  we will contact you to arrange a video conference.

3. Interview with us

You will be able to solve any doubt you have about the au pair program in Spain

4. We will send you families interested in talking to you

You will receive the host family application form, a letter and photos of the family, the aupair’s room and common areas, as well as references from previous aupairs with their contact details. We don’t limit the number of families we send you. 

5. Interview with the Host family

If you are interested you will arrange, together the host family, a video conference. We will advise you on the topics to be discussed and answer any questions about the family or the location.

6. If you are a match with the Host Family

If you and the family agree, we will prepare the agreement to be signed by you and the host family. 

⇒ If you are not a European citizen, you may need a visa? We can help you by contacting Spanish language schools that issue valid invitation letters in order to obtain a visa.

7. Organize your trip to Spain

You can buy your plane ticket now, the family will pick you up at the airport. Organize with the family the best date of arrival.

8. Receive the contacts of other au pairs

You will have access to the list of au pairs in Spain. Do you want to go to Spanish classes? We will help you and send you a list of Spanish schools in your area.

9. Welcome to Spain!

We will contact you within a few days of your arrival to find out how you are doing. You will have our support throughout your stay in Spain if you need it.
